Whitney Tilson, a philanthropist and educator, is running as a Democratic candidate for NYC mayor in 2025.Tilson has championed education reform, minority-owned businesses, and public service. Whitney Tilson has dedicated his adult life to improving public schools, especially for the most vulnerable children. After college, he moved to New York City to help start Teach for America, which has recruited and trained 70,000 dedicated teachers to work in our highest-need schools. Later, he joined the board of KIPP New York charter schools and co-founded Democrats for Education Reform.
